Her fingers in his hair had his eyes closing and him letting out a quiet sigh of content. He was trying to relax, decompress from the mission, but his mind was still turning over the events. His eyes opened as she voiced what he was thinking and Poe gave a slight nod. "That's what I think too. It was a little too convenient."
He fell quiet again for a few moments, his gaze drifting away from her as he mulled over the other... thing that had been wearing on his mind since the fight happened. Something he definitely didn't want to bring up when they couldn't talk face-to-face.
"If I hadn't been there, it would have been bad." Poe had lowered his voice as he started talking again. "One of them managed to flank us. He had a clear shot at my wingman, I saw it, and I..." His brow furrowed. "It was like I pushed him? The shot went wild and he fell, and my guys did the rest. I don't know if anyone saw it or not." He looked at Rey, equal parts confusion and concern in his gaze. "It was like part of me just knew what to do, but I don't know how I did it."
