The way she held onto him tugged at something in his heart, and tugged hard. Swallowing back the sudden lump in his throat, Poe gently rubbed her back with one hand, offering comfort freely. He didn't like seeing Rey upset and this... he didn't know the source but he knew he wanted to make her feel better and chase away whatever was bothering her.

"Of course. There's nowhere else I'd rather be."

Distantly, Poe was aware of where they were and that anyone might happen to see them. It wasn't as if they were doing anything less than innocent at the moment but he knew how people could talk, and it probably was starting to get noticed how much he and Rey were hanging around each other. And he decided he didn't care. After all, wasn't it better to have someone to lean on and support each other in these trying times than to carry on alone?
